The series is based on based on the books by canadian writer Janet Oak American Studio Hallmark specializing production broadcast classic TV shows and movies for family viewing. The project definitely turned out worth it, not even though that has not gained much popularity in the audience. For this series is always a pleasure to gather together as a family and to watch the good old classics that always wants to reach out to our callous hearts and to teach a valuable lesson.
The plot is simple — a young teacher and a rich heiress. Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow) goes to West, Coal Valley to teach at the school for the children of miners. In the way it waiting for adventure, but on arrival in the Valley she will meet special people who are true to themselves and willing to stand for each other. Get acquainted with amazing, brave women and men, their children will find themselves and love. For me this series not only a young teacher, but and the people who, even after the terrible tragedy that broke a family, does not lose presence of mind, and believe best are fighting for that are seeking to acquire. It turned out a kind of "the ballad of the fight", as in the same song.
Almost all the actors failed their characters, but best of all, for my opinion, coped Lori loughlin, who played Abigail Stanton Martin Cummins, who plays Henry's — both vivid, memorable characters. Like the game Erin Krakow, which very succinctly fit into the image Elizabeth Thatcher. Music is more background and not jarring. In the series is very nice, but the monotonous picture, more of a "cool" — mountains, forest, almost no of the sun, the same mining houses, but it's more of a plus than a minus — nothing detracts from the characters of events, because real paint in this story — its heroes are and nature, music and everything else it goes on second.
That not very much — a little ridiculous look of some of the inhabitants of the Valley, underlined by a neat and neat, white teeth, somehow it is unnatural for that time period. Not included Daniel Lissing in the role of constable, and later the main romantic hero, Elizabeth, Jack Thornton — seemed somehow too heroic, one-sided and uninteresting, even though all the skills of Sherlock Holmes, in matters of love turned out to be a complete ignoramus, just closer to the end of the first season began to somehow reveal how the character. And my other small niggle — virtually no opening theme, which is essence, should give a primary idea about the series. All very quickly, oiled, crumpled and at first I do not understand what they wanted to say its creators. Well and, to confess how many of the drama-melodrama, sometimes long and starts cloying. To protection say that despite that the plot of the series is a single line, it does not interfere with the story about the main and secondary characters of history, which is often the subject of several episodes in a row, and not provides highly bored in display.
In General, series "When calls the heart" ("When Calls the Heart") — this is a worthy adaptation of the books Janet Oak, good job Studio Hallmark and cast in an accessible form of a story about the eternal human values and how it is important though to listen to your heart. I recommend to family and individual viewing.
