"The veterans of foreign wars" (or simply "TOD") — this is a film of this type, as if a mad fan of "From dusk till dawn" shot something in the style of "Hobo with a shotgun", just on pure enthusiasm. It is not bad if not to nitpick, just sophisticated aestheticization of violence visible to the naked eye. Of the "TOD" could make a supernatural version of "Attack on the thirteenth station," and there was something so formulaic that even to be angry with the lack of budget is not want: the concept has already been sick of myself itself.

Stephen lang, who received a powerful impetus for career after "Avatar" and"don't breathe", plays a bartender — a Vietnam veteran in the pub for the notorious veterans of foreign wars. In the bar is also hidden a stash of a local drug dealer. The fantastic elements a little: the country is in the grip of a new, vile drug, why use it be whether zombies, or just crazy. In General, due to misunderstandings and meeting with a thief on behalf of the Lizard, a brave elderly veterans start a war with besieging them bar mutants.

Most of the film is just an endless slaughter in which the veterans are beaten, cut, prick and shot the soldiers-addicts. The bloodshed and mutilation are probably almost every important stage. Director Joe Bugos (author of retro-horror film "Bliss") is clearly smiling for not all their teeth: such a bloodthirsty film is worth another look. The however, the violence is out context: it is just a nasty list of frames. Dismemberment and other pleasures of life are reminiscent of guileless times when "meat" is made of bubl-gum that makes the small atmosphere.

Central actors play hard types, but somehow still perceive them as carefree personalities. Lang here — the leading personality and let it looks rough and tempered in battle, these his characteristics are not matter in such a primitive story. The relationships between the characters obey the simple archetypes, and the performers embody this idea.

Simple, bloody and a cheap horror movie enjoyable partly because of its collection of veteran actors (e.g., Martin Cove and David Patrick Kelly), but ruthless simplicity is negative side — unlikely "TOD" may involve something other than over-the-top level of violence. Watching how heads explode, there is an unpleasant feeling: the viewer is lured cheap exploitation. Oh, be people!
