Scientists are so often peered in space to distant, unexplored vistas that sometimes you forget that our planet is not less fascinating place that still capable to present many surprises and discoveries. The least explored area of Earth, if not take the calculation of the core and other unreachable layers, is rightly considered the world's oceans, which many of us deceiving consider to be their ancestral possessions, which can easily pollute, exploit and absolutely not worry about the consequences. But in fact, until that we have any right to talk about that the ocean yielded to our civilization, and who knows who actually lives there where did not get a research submersible or camera. There are many cases confirming the existence in the gloomy ocean depths something incredible, unknown to modern science, but until nobody in a hurry to drive us panic to share invaluable information with inspirational, or rather destructive potential. And while we do not know that is in fact, next to us directly for coastline, it will inspire and encourage our imagination to action. One of the most famous sci-Fi movies in the theme of the unexplored ocean can be immediately to call "the Abyss", to repeat the success of which tried many, including Barry Levinson, fall under water from their "Sphere". Of course, "Abyss" and"Sphere" deserve special attention, but a few disappointing that Directors in the world rarely need to the mysterious underwater depths, and if do then they obtained predominantly slag category "B" in the style of the immortal "Tentacles" or"Shark tornado". Occasionally we can count on something more sensible, like "Meg" John Turteltaub, but it is rather an exception to the rules. Now the time is mixed, but definitely has the talent of William Ubank to suggest, and what lies in the earth's crust, along with a stellar cast of painting "Under water", which felt at imagine that is a real insulation, to escape from which is not as easy as from the annoying paparazzi.
So, the plot of the film takes us deep-sea research station, engaged in mining in the Mariana trench. A similar project has become one of the most ambitious in the history of humankind and it was dedicated just a staggering amount of money, however it is not guarantee work on depth 11 miles is not be without a tragic surprises. Suddenly happened an earthquake leads to that the station is no longer able to function for a given program and the majority of staff are able to evacuate to the surface in special capsules, and the push all of them managed to escape from the trap. Among those who were in the deep isolation, is a mechanical engineer Nora Pryce (Kristen Stewart), and also the fearless captain Lucien (Vincent Cassel). Gathering around him a group of survivors, heroes think through the next steps, so how to stay the one place they can not be sure, but not only water, flooded compartments and the pressure are the greatest danger awaiting the people in the Mariana trench. Something sinister is lurking in the murky ocean waters, and it is clearly not intend to joke. To identify the enemy in the current environment is extremely difficult, but to stop half way simply impossible. If the heroes themselves about themselves not will see that im sure is not help, so you need to go to the goal, not forget to look at the level of oxygen, which inevitably ends.
Tape William Ubank is a kind of collective history, in which you can find motives all the same "Abyss", and also "Meg" and other of the deep sea-monsters, whose existence we suspected, but until they could not prove. Of course, in this kind of movies is not necessary to search for documentary foci, and just need to go into the oppressive atmosphere of despair, from which it is impossible to get rid of. Scaring us critical human body technology numbers dip, the creators gradually thickening dramatic colours, and even the timid jokes, occasionally pouring out the lips of the characters, not give us special chance to discharge. Along with characters, we were in the place where never gets sunlight, it is full of darkness and if itself asks researchers about that they found there is something deadly, to whom very tired of sitting in the darkness, while the teeth asking for a fresh treat. Of course, not to say that the script has some particularly original, but it is what the Director filed material available and the influence he has territory. Isolation of heroes from outside world this picture is shown very soundly, any doubt that the real heroes were in the critical situation there. But for best effect, should be closely monitored the events on the screen, because if it is the matter is distracted, then "Under water" will not look more than an attraction that causes not so the feeling of genuine fear, as an ironic smile. But I am happy that William Eubank were able to learn homework, know that is suspense and, according to all managed to find common language with cast that looks pretty convincing in this kind of history.
The greatest interest is how will manage its role as Kristen Stewart, because she of course a talented actress, but it is not always want to win the set must range of emotions, from what army haters almost on par with fans. "Under water," of course not will be her special artistic breakthrough, but we can say that the impression it is not spoiled. Some dispassionateness Stewart from everything in the context of this history, is the film just for the favor of the spectator is not have any questions about why a young girl with not a nightmarish appearance he decided to go down in the lowest point of the world ocean, while upstairs in her life could all be much more positive. What regards Vincent Cassel, once again newbie of the native France in a Hollywood movie, it as he always height, though nothing like the special distinguished. The important thing is that he has the charisma and it often presents an extremely pleasant surprises. Also found their place under the body of water full-time comedian TJ Miller, which is nice to see and hear it something fun. It seems to be all the standard of this movie, and still sometimes I exciting to go down to the uncharted ocean distances with a pleasant cast who has been very long time.
In the end I want to say that "Under water", of course, is up to the level of "Deep" in no hold, however, there is in the film its own characteristics, the spirit of research and a sense of isolation from the saving surface, which is issued impossible. So I can prepare for testing, can cause a real interest and a sense of danger.
