The Wind

"The abode of fear" (because that's what means "The Wind") — the second film is unknown in Russia, Emma and Tammy.

"The abode of fear" — totally unscary horror-Western with a terrible problems. It is clear that the creators relied on the atmosphere. But it is quite a dull and boring one-sided. In the second half of the film the viewer begins to tend to sleep. No wonder — monotonous psychosis heroines, the overall predictability, the later appearance of the "enemy" — all bores. The creators don't even added picture a lot of types of the Prairie, to seize the viewer's attention. Although there are some scenes, good in terms of shooting (e.g., the house lights in the distance on a foggy night). And in film to heap added of feminism (why is in the horror of class "C" — unknown).

What are the advantages? Well, for example, the concept "wind — enemy" — a rare phenomenon in the genre of horror. Convergence with the mind of the characters is shown well. Works quite well the division of the plot on  the"past" and"present". There is a terrible screamer. Extremely worthy scenery of houses of the XIX century. But all this is not enough to denote "the Abode of fear" as "good movie".

Actors. Caitlin Gerard plays something like a one-man show. She charismatic talented, its the game as it stands. The rest — terrible miscast. Ashley Zuckerman, for example, is more like the pious boy of the police of the twenty-thousand town in Colorado than the character. Affectation Julia Golden telles in an attempt to show "obsession" trust not cause.

"The abode of fear" does not claim any what not can. The film — an attempt at something clever which turned out not in something bad, but in the "worst".

I suggest to watch this horror movie adequate for adults and I have this is five reasons:

1. The story — I'm such a boring and sad story not seen ten years, maybe the film was conceived as a art-house or auteur cinema, but in 2019 look like a sleepy and sad developments — is as if someone plays the bagpipes with one hand and another bow from violin stroking my bare nerves. The feeling is comparable to when you eat taxi the stopper 90 minutes, and on the radio the taxi driver turned on the chanson or the first album of Tatiana Bulanova... Definitely the script could to endorse only people "not of this world" or unrecognized genius on the planet.

2. Actors. Their only four. And I know what kind of gallery they climbed who did the casting, maybe they got the announcement or on acquaintance, but I senior class played better auditor in the eponymous play. Yeah and the plot to "play" in the film was dull and lazy, as cleaning in rainy afternoon in the end of November,

The wild West is associated with most of us with the films of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, who never miss beat precisely in the purpose. Its contribution in the popularization of this genre and has brought a Robert Zemeckis film "Back to the future 3", but recently often Directors find in harsh American prairies, something sinister, frightening and blood chilling. A few years ago had a fairly interesting and tense Thriller "Bone Tomahawk" with the participation of Kurt Russell. Now the time has come, "the Abode of fear," which slips right in the soul and makes the heart pounding.

The plot is as follows: a young married couple in the face of Lizzie and Isaac had decided to leave the big city and to settle colonists on a remote farm. In their lives have been a real tragedy, on they wanted to forget, but the past is it catches them forcing again and again to relive the nightmare, from which is not to escape. And it's only getting worse, especially when Isaac leaves the house for urgent cases for quite a long time...

Annoyed Lizzie begins to suspect that is something wrong around, as if the forces of the Underworld rose to the surface and threatening to take her mind. Several corrects the situation, the sudden arrival of neighbors, Gideon and his pregnant wife Emma, but soon all will turn even in great terror, because the forces of evil don't want just give up their victims.

This film cannot be called a classic horror. On my opinion is rather, intense dramatic Thriller in which the Director pays special attention to the characters and gradual thickening of the paints. So yourself what I would hate to creep silently to the Lizzie and the worst thing is that to stop him happens.

The poor woman will be in a situation where it is simply no one to trust and as really know is there a mystic on or all not more than her fevered imagination. Believe me, in viewing will be on what to think, and the final revelation will become for you an unexpected surprise. And I know what you say, because the genre of horror is one of my favorites.

As a result, I will say that "the Abode of fear" is an atmospheric, tense and tough spectacle. If you prefer clever dramatic movie with a touch of Thriller and mystery, fact that picture you like.
