This author's retro romance got the main prize at the Cannes film festival, three Oscar many other important awards from institutions, and, of course, received, and still then receives enthusiastic responses from the audience. It truly high-quality and fine of novozelandki Jane Campion, which deserve to be called real cinema, art for art's sake.

Ada (Holly hunter) stopped to speak with 6 years, which was a kind of event, a strong impression of which took her speechless. The only connection of this woman with outside world — language and the old piano, on which she could play for hours on end, and this wonderful music, was enthusiastically listening not looking. She loved that the piano, it was a mirror of her soul, and through him, she has expressed all your feelings and experiences. And now, she with her young daughter Flora (Anna Paquin) is going to leave the coast of his native Scotland and move to New Zealand — its future husband, Alistair Stewart (Sam Neill) at the correspondence (about this Flora's father, present husband of Ada, is legendary, composed by the Flora). Once there, her husband -  refuses to take the piano in the house and it and remains standing in solitude on the coast of New Zealand. Hell won't be accepted by and being a woman strong and strong-willed, determined to show her new husband the anger and protest. In the end, the local savage Baines (Harvey Keitel) with the help of the natives brings this priceless musical instrument with the coast to yourself house and Hell concludes with him. — it will have to give it a music classes — the number keys, and then its a piano will come back to her. Here just knew it where in the end will lead them these lessons on rock piano...

And a love triangle is formed Stewart — Hell — Baines, the culprit of which is piano. Stewart and Baines — two opposite character. If Stewart, husband Ada, cool, reserved and aristocratic, then Baines, by contrast, represents the way a bit wild male seducer. The course of the film, in their behavior and actions, is what analyze have something to think about, or even imagine yourself on their place (this applies to the male audience, of course). Because the actions of all the heroes of the film ambiguous and thought-provoking, leaving questions and keys meditation.

Holly hunter has demonstrated a brilliant game, because to play silently — it is much more difficult, and not even without any word, it appealed to the person so much attention and increased interest. For external fragility and vulnerability of the character Ada hid the iron-willed in nature, due to which she lived courageously resisted all the trials of life. The piano was an integral part of her in it was made her soul, it could not be just her to take away. But, along with the is a piano was a heavy burden, prevent it easy to follow my life, besides the soul and the heart, it is also signed and her fears and torment, fettered her. So that is quite logical to assume, why is it in the end committed the act, is absolutely unthinkable for surrounding people and seemingly impossible for her.

"Piano" — it's a movie about the Woman, shot the woman. That is why it turned out to be such a refined, sophisticated, deep and multifaceted. It is a cinematic treasure trove for true connoisseurs of high-quality movies.

To me this film memorable camera work of incomparable beauty and grace. Many techniques have been replicated and modern audiences may seem quite familiar. But if you have seen many copies you give to see and original.

I also very memorable story of loneliness. But how much put a living soul in close the box dull duty, it will still run like escapes the water. And such happiness to see how the beauty finds the wings and with them freedom.

I think this movie is worth to watch it in the company of a teenage daughter. It is generally a very female film, and my opinion.

I never thought this film will be able to disappoint me. Constantly postponing it for later, I was sure it will give me the inspiration when it will especially not be missed. But  the Piano was only keys painted on the kitchen table, from which is not to extract live sounds.

Unfortunately, the film do not music and not Oh man, a lover of music. Let the frame has a tool, and the background is always playing some kind of classical melody, all of it seems only a pretext for the Director to get her character in the New Zealand to put in bed local savage. Hell, in favor the scenario in the entire narrative is not speak of the word, but no more she says of the piano. As the actress I Holly hunter is not to blame what a here the filmmakers I would have asked a lot of questions about her image. Personally for me it still the same strange weird, which appeared in the beginning before the eyes of the newly-minted husband. "Perhaps she's a bit?..", he asked and stood there shaking her head. So and the viewer will have to flounder in the depths of this story, dark and cold as the bottom of the ocean.

Other characters are drawn no better, behave very inconsistently and cause if not the laughter, then the tears. Love the line work is rough, the sex scenes are ugly, yeah and generally utterly annoying that screen time is spent on such nonsense, when it could just play it on the piano. It is, no need to the end finds its resting place on the bottom of the sea, somewhere near the Titanic and other sunken dreams of a bright future. So not playing a single note in my heart, the film is Jane Campion goes to feed the fish. Raise the sails, all hands on deck, we will meet a good movie about music!
