The film is still worthwhile itself in itself. Sometimes an intriguing plot. Some acting. Interesting interiors.

But...

The film was a bad as film adaptation.

And even if sometimes you want to fool yourself you lie to yourself that the Author never asked when you intend to make a film on his work, especially after his post-modern (sorry G... d for such words in review) death. Anyway read the book it is a pity the spent emotions, of passion, of expectation, anticipation.

The book of Echo — construct. But this deconstruction is usually found in scary, empty sleep, when awakening is perceived as a stranger. Therefore, such dreams are quickly forgotten.

But we have to admit that did not have experience with himself construct any deconstruction will seem worthy of attention. Them and the film.

Very peaceful historical film. No you battles, no you masquerade balls. Depicts a pretty bleak era — but no Frank kinks or claims truth the last instance. And detektivnoi clearly smoothed this historic ornament — which is also very good. In addition — excellent work of the actors, especially Abraham and Connery. Yes  & Perlman (not the first if it is the movie?) he played the role perfectly.

What is the film informative. To learn a little bit about the history of Christianity is helpful to everyone. And there are mentioned, and religious order, and Christian denominations, recognized by the Catholic Church heretical; very well depicted the Inquisition — without unnecessarily brutal scenes and abstruse sermons. In General, the historical painting looks simple and most likely.

Relate to whether the book Eco the movie Anno? What's the difference. And the other — not a masterpiece, but read and look nice. Except that the film turned out less sharp, less mocking, that is.

"The name of the rose" — the eponymous novel by Umberto Eco — all — still more than just a historical detective. Setting cold Christian middle ages here — this is just scenery, in which played out a profound political play about the retention of power.

A very fine abstract visualization of crowd — elite pyramid, where the Abbey (the scene), initially, it appears top. An impregnable fortress that is on the top of the mountain. The little people that live walls are more like animals. Killing each other for the swill that a generous Church bother, the time from time to throw to them through the hole in the walls of the fortress. The spectacle is disgusting, but figuratively very true. But so if the elite society are the residents of the Abbey, and how far the "true" Church officials admit to the sources of their worldviews? Of course, "caste", even within the higher echelons of society, especially religious, are present. It with all known truth, it is not negotiable criticized, and perhaps even not interpreted. However, interesting the fact that tried to ask what — that, at times, very logical questions on the subject of the interpretation of various aspects, for example, the New Testament, severely repressed and punished. Even more interesting is the fact that the set in the most part, those who is represented by a hierarchical system does not too high. Those who has real powers, humbly silent, realizing the stupidity and illogic of a number of theses that fill your life as pseudo — elite society and the lives of ordinary people. At all that Ministers with real power in hands look like scum or scum, but rather silly, don't willing to part with the crown, status, comfort. They are, in fact every tool that has authority from all of the child layers represented by the companies, but it not interested in the depth of standing in the basis of the doctrine questions. A tool that integrates what is supposedly interprets and reveals the intellectual elite of the Abbey. At this, access the manuscripts, books and other sources have all other layers, except the intellectual elite — no. Accordingly, there is no and the right to purchase whichever is there any it but still a personal point of view, regarding the questions connected with teaching. Thus, it appears that is the intellectual elite generates the values laws which you have to consider everything else. So who rules the ball?

"I want to see a Greek book, you said it is not written. A book devoted entirely to Comedy that you hate as much as I hate laughter."

The book, of course, was written. And was written no whom — else but by Aristotle, the name which carries enormous prestige for all who understand the difference between letters. And all nothing but that's objectionable to Aristotle, in his time managed to create a work that undermine the credibility of the need to comply with one of the essential behavioral patterns, through which to manage the human resources within the existing system much easier. A similar trick is not can not us thought about the number of such. And how long it took you to hide or distort that religion became a tool of management. How long did it take to burn books? How many people?

"- But what so scary the laughter?

- Laughter kills fear. Kills the fear of the devil. But without fear of him, no more needs to God."

And if not need God, no need of the Church. But if not need Church — and all your influence is not has more weight.

The story of the increasingly, swirling around a specific detective investigation, through the prism of which time and some various subtle aspects, which allow to see through all these regularities. The plot is interesting and original for its time, but in exists in order to bring the event to a public boiling point. To again to show people that a new really destructive, dangerous and sometimes, even leads to death.

"Today, when the fires flare up, let them the flames will cleanse each of the us heart. Let us return in your worries in your heart to that was must be committed to the mission of the Abbey — to preserve knowledge. "Preservation" — I say, search because in the history of knowledge there progress, for the most part, the accumulation and improvement of best of the heritage of the past."

The scary thing is that drawing Parallels with today's world, unwittingly stumble upon certain similarities in the behavior of the society. Then, listen to the priest and to fully trust him word — it was despair. You either illiterate or have the ability to touch the source, Yes, it interpretation of your faith — the only possibility to fill an existential emptiness, to understand their hardships and privations. And now? Religious Outlook for philosophy has run its course in the centuries of humanists and rationalists, in centuries, Descartes and Kant, but it's rule the ball 700 years before. These 700 years — a sufficient argument to make the reasons for the historical deformation of public consciousness. But, hell, read — we all — has learned! And what?
