Darren Aronofsky, a Director who creates his "own" movie, the movie by which he, being in some way an artist tries to convey a subfolder of your creation idea, to see or to speak more correctly, to feel the depth where you have that is a direct challenge to the audience.

And if in his famous motion picture "Requiem for a dream" Aronofsky has shown us the fragments of human life, comparing it with the seasons of the year, it regarding this film on my opinion, can be traced not less serious motivation, i.e. creating the Fountain, Aronofsky tried to reveal I only the theme of human life and existence, but and, in fact, the philosophy, his vision usual it would seem for us all things.

The main character is Thomas Creo (Hugh Jackman), a specialist in the development of vaccines and medicines for special purpose, vainly trying to create a drug that would be able to cure his wife Isabel (Rachel Weisz) from an incurable cancer disease. But what do you do, when next to you slowly dies the one that is able to bring happiness to you just by giving her nothing more than incomparable smile, the one that is striking in its vitality and inner strength, despite the participation in an unequal battle with their main enemy-disease? There is only one: to fight at all costs, but how to deal with that impossible to stop and turn back, how to win...TIME, time working against us, so when the precious hours, minutes and even fractions of seconds, so would like that lasted FOREVER.

"The fountain", in a greater degree, cinema, the composition of which, in General, constructed in such a way that throughout the film our attention is drawn only to the actions, words and thoughts of the two main characters. And this technique Aronofsky gives us ability "take a peek" and reveal the inner worlds of the main characters, "see" and again feel emotion, as independently other and General emotional background.

Fountain — it's a blast, a surge of feelings and feelings, which is filled with our seemingly have absolutely crazy world: love that no matter what should always be present in our hearts, because without it, people lose their mental origin; suffering and grief and loss for that fight and what wasted forces; the death, deprived of the warmth of her hands and soft touches, but death, as... creation, and the...hope, as the eternal source, filtering fountain through the thickness of the earth's crust, fountain, feeding its life-giving moisture tree human life. Here that, indeed, priceless. Hope — that "dies" is the last one that glimmers in our soul and gives us believe most importantly, that still has a chance, although last, but still a CHANCE...

Frankly: for a full understanding of the film "the Fountain" I took three viewing. But I can say that it is a philosophical fiction parable Darren Aronofsky is quite simple for understanding. Paradox? But it really!

Yes, "Fountain" — this is a huge step forward a conceptual plan. If "PI" and"Requiem for a dream" — pictures that made the Director name — used naturalistic shooting, in "the Fountain" film crew used sophisticated special effects. And most part — "only" macro photography of chemical reactions. This decision was driven by the desire Aronofsky "to stand the test of time" and at the same time to reduce the cost of the production of the film.

Definitely, this is the decision has proved extremely successful. "Fountain" is stunning in its visuals, built in contrast principle. Gloomy jungles of New Spain, side by side with a calm color scheme of our days, gradually turning into a futuristic mixing of paints of the era of space travels. The visual part of the picture is really a masterpiece. Thanks to the quality camera work Matthew Libatique, creating the effect of full presence of the spectator on the scene of unfolding events. Remember and individual scene: farewell Queen Conquistador, massacre in the cabin, a winter walk at the village, ephemeral existence in space.

"PI" and"Requiem for a dream" I remember the audience not least because of the shrill music of Clint Mansell. The great merit of the Maestro and in creating a special atmospheric mood of "the Fountain". Note at least the song "The Last Man" and"Together We Will Live Forever".

In this tape Darren Aronofsky smartly reveals acting ability Hugh Jackman Rachel Weisz. Both actors had to transform into a few such disparate images — and in order to provide the viewer the opportunity to be exclusively a holistic impression of your game. It would be unfair to leave without a great attention to episodic the entry Ellen Burstyn (Dr. Lillian) or Mark Margolis (father Avila). Good, certainly, was the rest of the actors of the second plan: from doctors and researchers to the high priest of the Maya. But the main actor took on himself Hugh dance Rachel Weisz — and did did well.

Hugh Jackman was still convincing in any of his three images: Conquistador seeking the Tree of Life; doctor Thomas kreo who is trying to find for his wife a cure for cancer; a space traveler, the hermit, seeking to learn the secret of Xibalba. Facial acting was on par. At the sight of Jackman quite a mono feel that the mood in government to is one or another character Hugh. Great job Jackman not leaves the viewer no choice except CA to empathize with him character in all the adventures that he happen to survive.

Rachel Weisz incredibly harmonious as in the image of suffering from cancer women XXI century and the image of the Spanish Queen Isabella. Two different characters: the loving heart, afflicted by the inability to help her husband in his difficult quest and domineering character who wants to protect Spain from the greedy hands of the Grand Inquisitor. Rachel Weisz is equally good in both its guises: as the faithful woman who's made peace with his fate, and as the embodiment of Royal determination and dignity. Perhaps, the Director did not made the right decision, instructing the lead female role in  the"Fountain" to his bride.

There is no special need to describe the details of the nonlinear plot of the film. In  the"Fountain" infused three eras: medieval Spain, modern America and space of the XXVI century. Each of the three stories are closely linked by the presence of the main character one Supreme goal: the search for Truth. However, the modern part of the story, slightly simplified and clichéd at than the other two, but is not affect her blissful perception.

Events occurring on the screen, leaving a large number of possibilities for interpretation. But way or or this rich history, so ambiguous in detail, it is solid in its core promise: immortality is not necessarily have to be physical and it is impossible without the knowledge and their place in the world. In some way, directed by Aronofsky promotes Buddhist humility before the inevitability of his fate and submissive acceptance of the basic laws of the Universe. However, for the religious basis it is easy to see and a touching and instructive story of love. And of course we live in the hearts of our loved ones!

In any case, the "Fountain" — exceptional mysterious film that seems samujana-heavy at first view, but then makes only marvel at their ignorance.

Aronofsky have reminds me of Sergei Bubka, who suddenly swung would to great heights. After numerous attempts, he overcame the bar that messed around, but still don't fall over! Counted!
Only one thing is unclear — Geman in three forms, and the wise see in two.

The theme of rebirth is revealed well. On the third time see this understand.
