In the movie "war Horse" Steven Spielberg looked at the First World through the eyes of a noble steed and in the process of making the film created a strong family pattern, in which in clear language (it is possible that first children) reported that this is war. And in 2005, for 6 years to war horse, on the screens out "Valiant: feathered special forces". In it told of the exploits of pigeons in the Second World war, and in a more child friendly format. "Sergeant Stabby: an American hero" somehow combines these two concepts and tells the story of famous people American dog hero. Dancing around a terrible armed conflict result in some conditional and nscontenttreeowner tale, clear and interesting, again, in the first to children USA, and to what viewers of the other countries... that well, even the historicism here is not enough, because the procedural development of unpretentious plot tries to be vindicated only with the help of archival photos of the closing credits.

So, a stray dog, Stabby evoked pity from a young soldier Robert Conroy, who had fed the four-legged. The dog follows him a military base, participates in the preparation of the fighters and becomes the mascot of the regiment. When it was time for us warriors to go on the First World war, Stabby followed them and participating in some (most bloodless, I want to see) battles. Stabby Conroy on the front line getting acquainted with a new friend — the burly Gaston, conceived as the way Americans think about the typical Frenchman, who only does that drinking wine, eating cheese, says the voice of Gerard Depardieu, and any music prefer the accordion.

Although the animation of the characters-people looks quite cheap in the whole scenery and the execution of the cartoon "the Sergeant Stabby" is executed magnificently. He hero-dog-cute-and was touched by their antics. Interestingly, not described as a fully cartoon character, but and realistic it also can not be called. In any case, the script tries to move in the direction of a more close to life situations and behaviors. This in turn imposes on Conroy significant load on the realization of human opinion on current events. And here "Stabby" fails: the horrors of war, the beauty of Europe, the wisdom of Gaston is shown in an incredibly primitive form without the rational or necessary historical reference.

Although the animated film lasts only 84 minutes, he felt self-repeating. Most part looks like a propaganda video, in which soldiers are experiencing wonderful adventures, and Helena Bonham Carter for the frame tells us about the success of "our boys". Emotional moment here is only one, yeah and he felt exceptionally manipulative. The result is rather soft and line.

Unlikely this animated film might be someone interesting among Russian viewers: an educational introduction to history and the prerequisites of the First World War served with the part of the Americans, and the message on teamwork, courage and etc. sounded, again, on some half-baked plot. The structure of the script seems to be not seasoned at all: soldiers at war, well, because war, and saves all Stabby, so as the plot. Exposure generally does not produces any context, except that focuses on protagonist — dog champion. Poorly developed and not forcing to be inspired by (or even feel and look for information about the real dogs of War heroes), "Sergeant Stabby" can be marked only interesting and diverse characters-people who, I feel, presented on the screen thus to serve as a tool for recruitment the army is too sensitive of young Americans.
