Hidetora, the feudal ruler of medieval Japan collects the sons, to declare to them his will. He wants to go on peace and to divide his possessions among heirs. "Ran" (Chaos/Turmoil) — definitely one of the best films of Akira Kurosawa. Ten years the great master of cinema thought through every scene of this without marked samurai drama. Specially for film was built equivalent of the medieval castle (put on the slaughter of the fire), made over a thousand costumes involved two hundred trained horses. Kurosawa wanted to make a truly ambitious film, and it is found.

Thought so Lchimonji Hidetora, the ruthless feudal Lord of a bloody era of Sengoku, when handed over the reins of his lands to three sons in my eldest son Taro.
