Magnolia

This story happened in the valley of San Fernando on a rainy day, when the sky was cloudless. Thanks to the intervention of a higher power, and also the piling up of coincidences, accidents, actions of different people, their lives and fates are intertwined and penetrate each other in a single day, the final of which will be unforgettable.

Oh, how long I wanted to see it creation!

Its perceived similarity with "21 grams," "love's a Bitch" and etc. bad that the film is fascinating and deep. Yeah and in any case, the interweaving story lines — always fun.

Wrong.

In a nutshell: lots of plot twists and a dozen main characters with supposedly interesting stories.

In our eyes, the male-speaker Volume Cruz in a few hours wallowing in tears with the words "You fuckin die, you fuckin old fuck!"(look at English was a bad idea), a miserable teenager writes in the pants, hysterical blonde, aimlessly and tirelessly sniffing some cocaine, well and, of course, Julianne Moore, and the whole movie screaming "Shut the fuck up, them motherfuckers, I'm so fucked up!"(indeed, a very intelligent movie).

Somewhere in the middle of the movie to have You will have the chance to enjoy snotty song Wise Up (don't know who want it is singing), more suitable for teen dramas, when some of Julie's gonna cry pink pillow on his ex-boyfriend Kevin.

By the way, Siy the masterpiece will be singing with a sad view all the heroes of our story (a COP, a sex-guru, the aged genius, a dying grandfather, a dying broadcaster, man-nurse, bitch and a drug addict) alternately, if this song gifted with imagination, the Director decided to shoot the clip.

The climax of all this nonsense — rain of frogs. Rain. From the frogs. Whether even write something else.

Lately I often come across movies on which you can say "swing on the ruble, the impact on a penny." Here and Magnolia of the number.

The movie tells the story about one day from the life of several people, or connected with some telegrey. Some this transmission make, some to play it, others have relatives of the fourth — friends of relatives.

It begins very fun, original. With place in careers — flash characters, scenes, sets, and strings of stories, a person of destiny. The topic — "an incredible coincidence". OK, look.

And somewhere in the third hour of the picture, the pace slackens. Dialogue begin to SAG, and action — mark on the place. And ends very indistinctly. So much intrigue, story lines, questions — and very few answers and real solutions.

The feeling that the filmmakers were afraid. Because to untie all the knots that they have imposed in the beginning, it would take much longer than three hours. But already — more than the timing, which is able to sustain the average viewer. And here some nodes are split, and other — hid from sin.

sad Thing — the topic not disclosed. Where this incredible coincidence? What is tied all the characters and all the plots? Nothing. They were connected initially, this is it was hard not to notice. A coincidence only — a rare natural phenomenon, witnessed by all characters, but given that all the events of the film take place in one city, it is not surprisingly.

Well, theme by theme, and what is the idea paintings? And is there is it in General? Yes, in separate scenes, she's supposed to be a present — "learn to forgive", "take loved ones for what they are", "man has the right to the error is"; and quite banal truisms: "drugs are bad", "suicide — not an exit," "revenge — this is bad" and etc. But one big, basic ideas, which would crest this work is not enough. Here it is separately, monumental as the unfinished Church is unclear what the religion.

And another thing: why — "Magnoliya"? Apparently, "because a gladiolus".

Result: awkward movie, epic and fundamental design so that is not enough even three hours on the full disclosure of the topics and plot. The creators of it had to understand that, of course, dashing the trouble — start, but and finish work should also efficiently and with the understanding that want to see the end. And there is a feeling that decided: "But let us remove , but final somehow formed". Not was formed. In General — to watch "Magnolia" it is even possible, if like the original, and unconventionally made film and not sorry for the time; but the revelations don't wait.

So I have this film so. As a result of strange coincidences have learned about this due to other matches long could watch it, due to more matcher was able to see it, and due to some amazing coincidences I only two days after the viewing was able to give feedback to this wonderful film.

Surprisingly, I used not know nothing about this excellent picture. Heard recently on her TV, I wanted to see. Surprised that my most beloved Director, screenwriter, actor and simply a good man, Kevin Smith, this film is not much like it. I have not seen other works by Paul Thomas Andersen, so nothing knew him as about the Director, Yes besides the timing was off.

But the duration of fear is not worth it. The film does not dull — just a little tight, but without this in any way.

Already with the first minutes of the story, I began to fall in love in this movie. It begins very stylish and very funny. The fun continues about an hour, and then, imperceptibly into a sad philosophical drama. However sometimes started specific "fuckin ' dark", but all diluted with a great ending and the scene the rain of frogs.

Now, about the plot, its hard to describe, but I'll try. There was a certain Earl Patridge, now he is dying. But before he wants to see his son, Frank Mackey, and tell him about all their mistakes. Simultaneously with this, a boy genius, Stanley Spector, takes part in TV shows like "Most intelligent", but suffering from the lack of attention of parents, and decides to play them out of spite. In same time presenter of this show, a Jimmy Gator, is dying from cancer and wants to say goodbye to your daughter is a drug addict Claudia Gator, but she sends "go to hell", but it falls in love with good COP Jim Currying. And so the whole movie, a dozen dramatic life lines. Interlaced in one. On first glance, it too technical and confusing, but to watch a movie is very easy in the situation is already included with the first thirty minutes.

Paul Thomas Anderson took this picture 29 years and it is third full-length work in the movie, and probably the best. Directing very strong, brilliant. Pleased that after a tie, the Director has managed to keep the viewer in suspense up to the very end. Really liked the style of the film, the camera work, intense editing, jump cut. The feeling that did all the music video.

The actors played on fine. Loved Julianne Moore, not thought it may very well to play such a complex role. Pleased by the presence of Philip Seymour Hoffman lately, he one of my most favorite actors. Very diverse. Well and of course, a sin not to mention Tom cruise, always thought he was a great actor, but here he played the best, just brilliant. Liked the Prodigy in the performance of Jeremy Blackman, a very sweet boy with excellent acting. Like John Riley, nothing knew the actor, but I want to see his other work movie. Not really liked melora Walters, but in the end she all the reformed and the final smile in General, touched.

The script executed perfectly, wrote it same Paul Thomas Anderson. It is clear that only the writer was able to film such a brilliant text.

We would like to mention a great soundtrack. It is a pity that find it I not could.

Conclusion: great movie, a masterpiece. To the same with meaning. But if not a great ending, in the form of "rain of frogs", then my rating would below.
