We have Mike was the Exception, powerful comic universe, Guillermo del Toro among the producers and 5 000 000 dollars, and we spent it could.

But not on film.

From the first minutes of the cartoon, it becomes apparent how much the creators care about your creation. As a fan of the original, I still, resigned to the absence of the original drawing, but to demolish the shoddy animation, the backdrops, nedorezova — I just in the state. Oh, my God, on-screen character, frankly, "nedobdet" to the earth, remaining at a diagonal to plane — this top post. Medium — this compliment — padded naykulturnishoi directing, stupid script with far-fetched the ears moves. About the voice acting is also want to cry: "give me my money and run away!" — very objective explanation of disinterest caste.

As a lover of cartoons and fiction — not recommended.

As a person who values other's time — discouraged.

As a fan of Hellboy Minoli — prohibit.

The English version of Wikipedia, to regret not answered question specific literary source of the story, so to assess the quality of the film adaptation I can't. In Russia, the animated film still came on discs, but the quality of translation, especially in terms of the selection of votes on my taste, disgusting. It is difficult to say how to be kids, but if you the highly recommend to watch in the original worst — captions.

The visual quality is quite good, is the dynamics of movement, a ghostly and magical glow, and etc. moments, i.e. drew is not just to show. However, panache key characters and, in particular, Liz... I guess I mediocre. Maybe she close to the comic book where this character is not regarded as love interest of the main character, but I am much closer and nicer way of movies, addition to which is an animated project.

Otherwise, the story is quite banal, but interesting in its own way, especially if a discount on the estimated age of the target audience. I admit, I was expecting something more, but this is a very decent children's cartoon, which may even be beneficial for a child's education. In the end, Asian folklore found not too often in the Russian or American works for children. Plus spiders, spiders are always beautiful!

Chronologically, the first cartoon about Hellboy I looked at the second. And I liked more, despite that it is considered to be more weak.

Apparently, theme — Hellboy here is opposed to the evil Japanese. Japanese mythology I love with respect, so look at the visualization of the classic Japanese horror stories was interesting. Got in cartoon history of the meeting Hellboy with bloodthirsty Rokuro-Kubi, which was in the comics (and, in turn, is a paraphrase of a fragment of the famous Japanese legend). In  the"Sword of thunder" you can see a whole collection of evil spirits very bizarre appearance.

The plot is quite straightforward — in most superhero fighters, the intrigue is mainly how in what order will the defeated villains. Well and, of course, the question of entertainment of this victory. Here the "Sword of thunder" nothing special to please not can — for the animated feature it fairly simple in graphical terms. As in the second multfilmi, here are the strange angular face, slanted eyes, unlike Abe Sapien. Except that legs Hellboy not are pathologically thin, what they drew continuing.

They say the cartoon closer to the comic source than the movies. This is partly because — in the cartoon is not love interest of Hellboy and Lisa, there are direct borrowings from story comic Hellboy not hides from the public. But the dark atmosphere and lovcraftian pathos of the comic book there is not expected: really painful bright, cheerful, children's panache. Slope in action adventure in the primary source is also not found it — some chapters graphic adventure Hellboy do without fight shooting. Instead of the mystical Thriller, dark urban fantasy, we offer regular "Hunters ghosts." That too, well.

Result: Hellboy fans, fans of Japanese mythology and fans of the superhero genre. "Hellboi: Sword Gromov" for his own good, but is inferior to the comics and the movies; and certainly not suitable for exploring the universe Hellboy.
