Xenia, Ohio — a small town "one-storeyed America" in the mid-seventies laid a powerful tornado, but never recovered from it either economically or in any other way. It is inhabited, they have children... Who have nothing to do but to deal with the daily boredom of monotonous life. And I must say, their methods of struggle are not distinguished diversity, as well as the entire life of this town and the people that inhabit it...

I think in this film is important, not the plot, but the feelings that arise when you are viewing. And my opinion is quite difficult to assess such work in the framework of the existing evaluation criteria. For some reason reminded of the "Elephant" van Santa.

Personally for me this one of the most interesting paintings from all I've seen. Of course, if you look with the original sound track, but not the Russian translation.

Definitely top score:

A film about the emptiness of life and the emptiness of the people of a small town! About decadent, in fact, the existence and decadent indeed!

This film is big, fat slap in the face well-fed, pseudo busily and pseudo SCHASLIVOY America!

Yes messy, but without moralizing! This attempt art a look at a normal life. Not polished not refined! Sizofrenija depresivno!

The impression is that show in film do not dream to leave this town, as if knowing that in life there is no place!

Harmony Korin wrote the screenplay for the iconic "Kids" twenty-one. Two years have not taken off less iconic "Gummo". Students of film schools, especially those in the way or other reasons have passed twenty-three, was exhausted from creative itch by making up stories about disabled Horny teenagers, biting elbows, and was jealous of the young genius. And here I'd really wanted to compare Korina with another representative of the young and brilliant. No, I'm not Oscar Wilde:) I about Orson Welles. The author of the best movies of all times and peoples was twenty-six when the film was released on screens. And the famous wells became even earlier — just in twenty-one — when was that the premiere of Macbeth. It is noteworthy that after Citizen Kane career of large man went to decline. It movies have suffered financial collapse, Orson Welles suffered from American film studios, but the less of his subsequent films personally, I interesting some times of the stunning genius, albeit not eclipsed him Kane.

Harmony Korin, writer to the movie boys girls people. the name of Harmony tells us history of people who had spontaneously die, but by happy coincidence, still move something perceived. They live in dirt and the abominations of their appearance causes nausea, but the amazing part of their evil deeds and wretched existence that these assholes are not only call us anger and resentment, but keep imagine the naivety and the purity is comparable to of childlike innocence. Because they know not what they do.

In General, the work of the Director is really amazing. Each monologue (in the movie in much or the other monologues), every scene, every action of the characters reveals their characters, discovers the reason and explains the motives. This aerobatics as they say, the real drama — it's the characters. I might not saw another movie where every action of the heroes so would eloquently talked about themselves. In this respect, I am call the script brilliant, the Director's genius, and allow myself to compare it with the great Orson Welles. The comparison is true only in one respect: harmony Korin as and wells not able to realize their potential a rising. And and the other after an early and high-profile debut, not out of the paintings, which were developed and evolution its artistic value, according to compared to first.
