In American cinema was filmed enough movies about the evil children. You can list several of them: "Bad blood", "the omen", "children of the corn", "the Good son". The names have shows that movies promise some mystery in the plot. Of them there's a horror about children, maniacs, and there is a mystical Thriller about children of the demons. But unfortunately, most often in them little actions associated with a straight fight between children and adults. Then, in such films adults are very rarely afraid of the little villains. But recently, finally, started to make films in which takes into account the following details. So in 2009, he released the mystery Thriller "the Case N39".

Social worker Emily Jenkins rescues a girl the name of Lilith whose the parents tried to burn her in the oven. Emily believes that adoption Lilith asked her. But it does not haunted by the reason for which the parents so Lilith brutally tried to deal with his innocent daughter. Soon Emily a few close people die at the mysterious circumstances, and she realizes that Lilith is not an innocent child, as she may seem on first glance.

story Rating

Honestly, at the time of viewing "Things N39" I'm a little confused by that fact that the main intrigue of the film's plot is completely different from the plot shown in the trailer. And in the trailer, and the film saves the main character Lilith and then adopted her, but in the future, there are strong discrepancies. If the trailer braided affair with the invisible spirits haunting the girl and destroying all her family in the film the main antagonist is the spirit of Lilith. In the film, the whole story is dedicated not as Lilith has become such. The plot revolves around Emily, who is desperately trying to get out of under a slavish bondage to Lilith. But it does not spoil the film, but rather makes it only more interesting.

The genre of the "Case N39" — pure mystical Thriller that means in the film, a strong tense atmosphere of anxiety and fear, and fears for the life of the heroine. And, indeed, in the moments when Emily was the only one to one Lilith was somehow not on its own, because you know what Lilith is much stronger than all other characters combined. To the horrors I would the film not related, specifically because of the atmosphere of horror in it is not observed, although violent scenes there.

What to say about acting, then there is nothing to anything. All the actors played their roles flawlessly. Would never thought that Renee Zellweger ever will star in mystical drama, in which it will perfectly embody fear and horror, and the scene her screaming will make jittery. Bradley Cooper played a cameo role and is quite ambiguous, but anyway it was a pity that his character is so brutally killed by the demon.

operator installation

Style camera work was very original. I loved the moments when the camera was located directly above the girl, creating a sense of fear and surprise. Also in film was aerial photography, which gave a sense of the grandeur and uncertainty. The installation was in the style of Alfred Hitchcock, then there was a constant succession of one position to other.

The music in consists of electronic music, but with all this, it was beautiful and perfect for a mystical Thriller about the girl-demon.

Visual effects

Computer graphics were weak, but not surprising, because it is just a mystery Thriller, but not a fantastic blockbuster. But were a realistic scene. One of such scenes were the scenes with the attack OS.

I put 9 points for a fascinating and interesting story, holding in voltage the duration of the film. And generally I advise to all fans of mystical thrillers.

The film very much. Strange beginning, but at the end of the film understand how it could all turn around with feet on head like a seemingly such a terrible thing as the attempted murder of the child find an excuse in the eye of the beholder. The baby of course difficult. But this film and wonderful realize You its essence gradually. First with disgust, will look at parents and others, then You will make themselves a little girl a death verdict.

I am a lover and connoisseur of good horror movie where the film holds at the screen for the preview, when it voltage just has to do with tried to holes the effect of surprise (the latest vivid examples — "Uninvited", "the Unborn"), but also with increasing with each minute drama in where the main character is changed to eyes — from caring and compassionate, confident in himself to brought to extreme exuding animal fear. On for you don't know, scared to even think what to expect from a cute baby. And it is very... hold... just hold.

The only negative — bad the development of hatred of the other main character police officer Mike to the demonic girl. I seriously doubt that a grown man initially scitovsky that Emily (Renee Zellweger) needlessly suspects in all serious, quiet child, immediately after receiving a call from the threat of violence in from the voice similar to the voice of the unfortunate girls, agreeing not hesitate to assist in the MURDER of a child, to the same still guardian of the law. Defect.

If not the penultimate paragraph, 9.5 10, and so, see below.

A movie with this plot by far was to be either a drama or a horror film. The Director decided to choose the latter plot development, trying to combine the Thriller and the horror movie genre together. On my opinion is he got to about slightly below average. Well, Yes, and if not three "but," the film would have a chance to rise above. After all, the story told in the film is quite intriguing and holding stress.

One "but" across the film are such films as "o-man" and"Whisper". In these films, a similar story was told more gracefully and authentically, especially in the first them in  the"o-man". Moreover, than "a Matter N39" that in the first, in the second I mentioned the movie the story unfolds without a sharp hopping capability of the moments, without the continuity of the narrative, and the culmination of the increased voltage are not deliberately pokazushno fight scenes with the monster (Yes, the scene is quite frightening, but this fear is kind of trash, because it is not contain currently nothing except the desire to make the viewer flinch and firmly pressed into the seat), and understanding, awareness characters situations and their role in it. The voltage increasing the course of the film, based on the psychological pressure on the minds of the audience, and not really terrible footage of the film. Therefore, such films and mesh is much stronger and deeper than those which preference is given to fight scenes with monsters and other unreal horrors. If, for example, in the same  the"o-man" aggression the evil was only when this Evil it was necessary to protect themselves from external interference, then there's aggression was justified, in this film, that aggression was not justified by anything external interference there is, and there is only the desire of the Evil to show who is the boss.

Unfortunately, this feigned horror and shows us Director "Case # 39". You gotta give him a tribute — he tried at first to use a method of psychological pressure, and place is it turned out pretty much. Why should only the conversation of the infernal girl and psychologist! Apparently not is nothing but an internal struggle, internal conflict, reaching its climax. And psychologist this fight suffers a defeat, because the counteracting force nesorazmerno more. And calm girl who behaves absolutely not as laid her child of the age, serves the item, one which is enough for giving the impression of something surreal, and very dangerous.

In short, the scene where is shows this struggle, came out perfectly. And if this direction was deepened and expanded — the film would take their place in some have mentioned examples. However, the Director chose to go for a different path, and this path has hit a picture on rails of predictability that adds a picture in a whole advantages.

The second "but" for the film became obraschaet narrative. Heroine sharply and suddenly, with absolutely no transient moments of doubt, distrust and uncertainty, understands and accepts the idea that girl — the most Evil that must be destroyed, and not all the poor offended child who needed to be protected. However, since this point becomes clear that we show not a psychological Thriller, and, accordingly, further emphasis will go on building components of a horror movie. If not nested in these components some idea, the film would have fallen into the category of trash.

Undoubtedly, it is worth noting Renee Zellweger. It character — really swamped, tired and exhausted woman, a social worker. However, some things look a little ridiculous, but not wine of the actress — the role it plays great. Exactly well as great infernal girl. From her smile in certain places it becomes downright creepy. If the moments when we show animated horror, just terrible, very or not very (because know — the laws of the genre it goes by morning, it anything suddenly, but that time is to be expected), it here's a look and the girl's smile, expected and moreover — almost does not foresee — are not fear not — they are horrified and panic. Because know — this is not to go anywhere, and with the dawn it disappears.

The ending of the film silly and banal. Banality and dies became the third "but". The only interesting in her time — it is an allegory of the ongoing character of Renee from the situation which it is to a similar situation in my own childhood. Was still like any attempt to a philosophy, but they failed because of psychological stress in not enough for philosophy level.
