The film is based on real events of the late 60s. Gertrude Baniewski seemingly very ordinary housekeeper, keeps in prison in the basement of their home and torment the most sophisticated ways of the girl-teenager, as payment for the content of Sylvia is not received on time.

Have you ever experienced true anger? I wanted to do you ever hit a man, let and deserving? Did you want to hurt, according to really hurt? If you say no — I believe it. And do not believe if you say that never passed, who needed help. Cruel? But we do not to realize how's seriously. And feel anger or get into the lives — this is normal. is it time to change the concept of that is fine and no?! it all starts with small.

Someone's silence can kill.

I guess I never understand how can you ask someone bad. You can get angry, but same hate, but this personally your attitude. &Nbsp;Yes if you child a grown man, and especially my mother, say to you: "It's okay, she has earned" on what do you head, well, forget his what is your heart?

Sometimes in the most severe cases, all that we stopped — the fear of punishment.

But here we are shows that situation where there is not any of the law of any of conscience. A nice no the stop, and basic understanding and compassion. But in this film (and generally in this story) just do not. There is a thirst for violence, which Yes, the same animal can not be called, in the fact that the animals are not kill just so, not a mock sebadoh and certainly not get from this fun.

Specifically about the film. It is not "Hostels" and not "Saw", ladies and gentlemen. Learn more from the history of Sylvia Likens you will notice that in shown half of terrible things which it is subjected. About than says? About that in this film the Director does not want to plunge the viewer into the shock of the old "meat" (of which in this story enough), meaning, on my opinion, was that whatever everything that happens on the screen has touched the deepest corners of the human soul. That everyone would recognize yourself. And whatever the suffering Sylvia was hurt and we, the audience that we gnawed our own helplessness. What we would have done anything to that would reality never have occurred.

- Why is doing?
- I don't know...

Much can be said about how Gertrude thing. About that her kids are young sadists who don't know that as bad they did. And that the expense of the other tormentors Sylvia? What at the expense of the neighborhood children and teenagers who shared this for some reason, we have to explain them actions can only only what is purely human thirst for violence. What at the expense of a modest neighbors who heard the screams but didn't want to get involved? And how the younger sister? I think to the end of life it will gnaw his conscience. Okay the rest, for them, Silvia was a piece of meat, but after all, Jenny was her sister, who knew that the girl "can Express feelings" and knew she doesn not guilty... Can all be attributed to fear, but unfortunately...

So or otherwise, the story is real. It happened once and happens every day. Not sure to be grateful to the filmmakers for such realism, but I am grateful. This weird, I used to every on-screen "grinder", but things are different here. The story was passed very easily, that we do not impose. This one of the main advantages of the film — manner of filing. Another plus is against Sylvia and Gertrude, the main heroines. Again, you can draw your own conclusions. Ill Director's course at the end of the film, which gave hope and thus made even more...

Of course it could not be Catherine keener and Ellen page. The first is the game and how ironically, the versatility of her character. It can make you feel it Gertie compassion Yes then, when her victim is half dead, but then... And Ellen page again surprised me. Third film with it I looked in each she transforms into his character for all 100. From it depended on I believe you Sylvia so as required, she did. No words. And every actor in this film, ceased to be an actor, rather a party to the crime or just a neighbor.

Mad world...really mad... And we are.

So, the movie "American crime" is based on real events. Before watching, I decided to read this story, so tell the original.

Goose skin ran, when I into the story of Sylvia Likens. Sweet, kind, strong, cheerful girl was destroyed mentally and physically.

I can say that the film is as close to the story.

Parents in search of a pick-up work leave their daughters doubtful woman Gertie Banishevski, which is not able to feed their children, the the soul in them chaet. Gertrude Banishevski is a success at adolescents, because her house everything is permitted: Smoking, drinking alcohol, talking on"adult" topics...

Under false pretenses Gertie offends and humiliates Sylvia, the eldest girl. Gradually, everything is move in the beating, the mockery, the torture... the Kids are happy and willing to support Banishevski, because they so you want to break a taboo, to feel special. Restrictions for bullying is not.

So that struck. Sylvia beat her kick, put out of her skin with cigarette butts...(whether to list?) In this time the neighbors in the garden, hearing the girls scream, exchanged frightened glances. "It is not our business." Here it is THIS phrase. Indifference, principle of non-interference has ruined an innocent child from this was so scary hurt. Sometimes inaction is equivalent to the crime. Cowardice, meanness of people... And the worst thing is that it was the place to be in real life.

What about the game of actors, I was satisfied. Not manipulative, not replayed. Ellen page is really similar to Sylvia (judging by photographs).

Pretty well the essence of the characters, their inner world, fears, complexes, just the dark side.

Not might say that the film is a guide for the moral monsters at least due to the fact that clearly morality.

As though Sylvia looks, and her eyes says: "do Not remain indifferentI."

I can't tell you those of the feelings that I have experienced in while watching the film, many tears cried In the... more recently there were movies that could I deeply perceive.

The idea to see was at me long after I came across it is a crime, but did not dare, probably because is already reading parts I got the crime was terrible and the movie I was expecting a "horror" but not...

"American crime" breaks you just morally, especially because all the "how to normal" they all there is justification. I was shock mother who was visiting the girl told her his sad life story, justified and went to take the lighter that burn out her belly... Her "daughter" that "did not want to be a part of" and she took care of that Silviu "punish" kids who are still yesterday, was friends with no innocent girl and today for the pleasure burned on her cigarette body. Yes, we know in the modern world was a crime and worse (still, what is there to be surprised!), but most shocking of all is that small children can do is. I never allow the reviews to justify the psychopath — mommy...

Yes, people are vulnerable, not sure myself, bad, sinful... But is able to only go animals.

In the course of the film understand that it not just constantly reflects the Bible — the meaning of the film to a lot deeper than you think. There is a feeling that the main character reflects in itself of Jesus Christ, and all than accused — that there are sins of others. And constantly before the eyes falls Gertrude, saying that makes it it to his family — Yes, cripples small slender girl instead of themselves and their children.

Long she was such films, forcing to start to really think about.
