I must admit that first I decided to watch the movie "American animal" because he's the poster interesting. And I that was skeptical of the content of the picture, but rather just not was sure that will come something good. Still, the genre as a movie-robbery already have not happy some new masterpieces. However, W I was wrong — film really good.
"American dream" — this is a Prime example of excellent combination of documentary with an artistic movie. Parallel to the action of the film the story is told from the real participants of those of events that describe his feelings and his perception of the incident. I think it gives a very soulful and sensual involvement of the viewer in the story. And, meanwhile, you can see how well the actors coped with his roles.
Last time I've seen a similar concept in a good movie of Richard Linklater's "Bernie." But if there genre roots deep went to the Comedy, it here is ruled by drama. Drama serial and is very realistic. That there will be so it all started a very fun and interesting, but it ended tragically. In the end, the heroes had to accept the harsh reality and try to clear your own conscience.
The film has clearly drawn morality and idea, not can not good. Not can you name the film is instructive, because the use of well-known morality and capital. Probably just very revealing. With other hand the plot itself is also quite impressive. All the preparation, implementation and consequences the robbery is shown very competently and entertainingly. The film takes a plot akin to "Games of a devil", "Fargo", "Mad dogs" (relatively, of course) and other movies with similar plots, and in the same time ideologically goes back straight to "Crime and punishment". And touching monologues of the characters in the end convinced me completely.
Someone here wrote that the film is too serious and it would be better make it Comedy. But honestly I have little idea how can adequately convey these ideas in a comedic format. It W not to take Cohen, a pancake, removed! The more so comical notes in the film is still there. Let them quite a bit, but still this makes it clear that a certain amount of irony from the creators are.
At the General charm of the film, I just consider it my duty to say a few words more about actors. They here, it's amazing. I loved everything about it. That haven't so long ago Barry Keoghan performed well in the infamous "Dunkirk", and after you have struck me "Killing a sacred deer," where was kept on a par with such professionals as Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell. And here he again continues to surprise and cool plays in this film, which is a wonderful Quartet with Evan Peters, Jared Abrahamson Blake Jenner — too young and equally talented artists. Yes what I say. All coped superbly. Just look at how they are combined with the real people who play — everything will become clear.
Well, add, of course, sugar good camera work and the use of the creators of the good and old music. The old hits sound convincing and give a chic, and so good the film, making it even more refined work.
In the end I can say that "American animals" can and can not be called undisputed masterpiece of breakthrough hitherto unprecedented ideas, but, in any case, it is very qualitative, laborious and well-directed work, which is worthy of attention. I even slightly disappointed with the fairly low rating of this film on the CP. But I am sure that your audience is cinema find.
