Writing scripts and make a movie — different talents. Not everyone is given equally well to do something more. Tobias Lindholm had a hand in the script astroklimaticheskih iconic "Hunting" for Winterberg, after three years took his own opus movie on their own. This new history its potential can not be weaker than the previous one on  the"Oscar" claim, but after all, we need to be able to tell the screen only paper. It seems that Lindholm simply got lost in the Director's chair, dropping the work on the movie chance, visualizing the text literally.

His character — a Mature man, a loving father of three children and the husband is pretty cute wife waiting for him to return home in Denmark, brave, intelligent commander of a military unit fighting with the Taliban in Afghanistan, takes the once in combat controversial decision and goes to the home under the court. The viewer, to the last moment, not find out whether the soldier is justified, is invited to become a judge and choose the defense or the prosecution as the closest to their own attitude to events.

The idea that nice and could help to maximize the voltage, if the Director has correctly placed the accents and clearly defined the problem over which is worth considering. Instead, he film the film is a kind of incomplete chronicle of events, dividing her two BC occurred after filling each of them with unnecessary details that do not what do not help to comprehend the gesture, but even interfere with him to focus. Frankly, I had all still, what will be the verdict for this man, and not because I came to the obvious consensus as to its guilt. Simply more fascinated by other issues that surfaced in the course of viewing. With what thoughts came to these people to fight on foreign land? It seems to me that serve time, and just try to come back. For the last one to condemn not right it is logical to assume that if self-preservation — key purpose, that everyone would be better not when visiting dangerous places. This question could be specified Lindholm in light of the events at least in the mouth of fellow defendant, but not been spoken by anyone. Or how valuable the life of the local population for freedom fighters, which broke out around the fuss? In the film is a lot of leads for thinking about this topic, but no one was got by Director. And it would be worth understand those restrictions, with which the soldier must save the life of a Dane, and when Afghan and are there any situation where the salvation of the latter, he can't care. The occasion was — family of a native resident who applied to company commander for using protection, expelled from the part because finding it there is not provided by the rules. But and this critical moment remained for brackets. Finally, the predicted difficulty — how to live with knowing that the feet of their children is no different from five dying Afghan children, too, were shamefully neglected in the film. Hint it was made, but only.

The investigation was limited to meticulous interpretation of compliance with the letter of the Statute and reasonable doubt. Not surprising that not me worried about the moral assessment of the perfect good guy Klaus Pederson acts, she wasn't interesting, first of all, the very Lindholm, who put the dilemma in formal military rules and from the point of view of their, it and considered. In causing the problem just disappeared from surveys, then why is it was filmed? Compliance with the regulations of the Danish military is absolutely not concerned bystanders, who here is the viewer. And it's a boring movie seriously claim to the Academy award?..

As in the movie "the Hunt", where Lindholm was a writer, not feeling that the situation is incredibly inflated, so there was a conflict between the abstract, but the inexorable law and a good man suffering, is worthy of sympathy. So the hero of the film in the first soldiers, father the husband, though valiant responsible officer who is grateful for direct from hospital of the rescued soldiers. And the most painful for the hero's question: "Dad, you killed the children?". This is enough to create the necessary psychological tension, the more so this is layered on hard military scenes in which people live one desire to survive, the implementation of which depends on every decision of the commander. We can not to sympathize with the man carrying on his shoulders such a responsibility. And how is waiting for his son, nervous, behaving inappropriately — also enhances empathy. In General, the viewer under pressure, as you can it is it seems redundant.

It is somewhat strange that any character never remembers the family of the Afghans, which he guaranteed protection, and they were found dead. They need is story about the operations and themselves have values for authors idea?

In our audience, in principle, not accustomed to respect the law, the film clearly reinforces the position of critics of European values, although it comes from them. at this human attitude towards the soldier will not soon.

Summing up. I will say that the film is solid, although not brilliant, but too deliberate and artificial.

Sat down to watch nominee from Denmark the category "Best foreign film" with enthusiasm for me the time was very impressed by "Hunting", the writer of which was Tobias Lindholm, who wrote the script and orchestrating the "War".

If to compare with"Hunting", then where I sincerely and heartily sympathize with the main characters, because he was clean as a whistle. Here in front of us trying to show a similar situation in that the main character acted on the conscience, but is it that this conscience is not corresponds to the international civil law. But if clean Klaus, as was pure Lucas of the "Hunting"..?

And here all is very ambiguous. To be honest, despite all the mitigating circumstances and pressure we, the audience, different situations and family, I tend to the prosecution. No, not in no way judge not have the right, just in this case the prosecution was for me more appropriate. Of course, I empathized with the main character and very, however, you have to understand that if you boss, can't be guided by emotions, your mind needs to stay cold that whatever happens, no matter how high was your motivation.

Klaus not able to forget these baby heels, and I could. I think that in the future, his conscience torment. He will always be remembered.

The film is very sensitive with the point of view of morality. That before the main character was a big dilemma that in front of the audience. And if  the"Hunting" problem was solved clearly, something here, I think, will split on those  and those  against. In General, the film discussion... I was Sitting after him, and think, whatever you made its place. And no answer.

"The hunt" definitely left an indelible mark for a long time, but this film is not bad. I think its a worthy nominee for the Oscar. Glad though the film and about the war, he no raises have long jam theme, this is clearly something else.
