This ribbon — undoubtedly a masterpiece. A poignant story of the breakthrough group of African slaves in a free life. How much blood, fear, and pain how people seeking a place under the sun. I never been in Africa, think the world community in the face of a few influential families have not the first decade is holding back the potential of Africa. White fear of black. Afraid of them strength, courage, and their features. I'm afraid to see the world different surprise.

The story of NAT Turner — single head. Poor boy, like Christ and Moses, were under the influence conferred on him the mission. But it is not have resisted this mission, and just waiting for the time when it the election will show itself. And choking unfairness that stimulated the transformation of anger into a rage, created the emotional basis for lead the uprising. Sacrifice — behold the blood of all the fighters freedom. The most impressed scene of the hanging of the Net. I never seen it shown so close the victim's face. And in this case on the person — all the emotional map of his life.

I must admit that movie I times was crying. Recommend to all who faced injustice, infringement, and also interested in the psychology of the revolutionaries.

The film, as and many films on this topic, has already opened a rather familiar world of African slaves of the Southern USA. Elms, white cottages, cotton fields, lingering and sad gospel songs of slaves... That not enough to powerful dramas on the topic of slaves? The Oscar-winning "12 years of slavery" I leave the viewer clenched his fists from anger, despite the final. "Amistad" Spielberg is also not give satisfaction for full. And finally, filmed a biopic about the local uprising of NAT Turner in 1831 in Virginia.

Can't say that the film was released on the background of his predecessors on the theme of a stronger, perhaps even inferior in many aspects: there is a small budget, and lack of scale (although that the uprising was relatively not large, it could show far more epic). The movie we our fists patience with the main character, grind their teeth from the anticipation of revenge (after all, we without spoilers know that the film is about the uprising), but we get? Throwing the main character and clear enrage at the same time. Unnecessary religious component only adds to all the picture. As summary: swing in a powerful drama on a given topic, very good work of artists and operators, a very weak thread related to by the revolt, the action of the rebels. In fact, we see only a small part of the event that scared of in the year all of America. We do not have time for such a short time to feel the Nata in movie the leader of this weakness, coupled with uncertainty about rebels in General (due to scarcity) compress powerful drama to tearful autobiography of one of the first revolutionaries for the rights of the African-American population of the States.

With all this, the film is quite complicated, is stronger than drama will not leave anyone indifferent spectator, who once, in the distant 90's dropped a tear under "brave heart". By the way, the story line, in a stripped-down version, very much a masterpiece reminiscent of Mel Gibson. But is purely structural. So, put on the shelf for another one good drama on the issues of slavery in the U.S. but remember that already there are masterpieces that are difficult to surpass. Heard McConaughey and his "Free state of Jones" is also swung on the theme of revenge white owners in led white, but not... was greeted properly.

Picture the Birth of a nation Nate Parker on the title refers to another "Birth of a nation" in 1915, completed an outstanding Director, innovator, David Griffith. The film has over 100 years and it is, in some sense, laid one of stones the basis of the genre of epic Kinopalace, which a is not exist. The minimum film Griffith was very noticeable racist message, there according to the scenario of a rebellion against an innocent white raised wild blacks, which no one really did not touch, and the main superheroes young people in unambiguous white hats. Director Nate Parker, obviously experiencing hostility to a classic film and to what it still is a cinematic America the current generation of film enthusiasts, took "otvetku" Griffith, where have tried to show that the real birth of the American nation has experienced in the rebellion of NAT Turner and other black slaves, and not since the Renaissance of the Ku Klux Klan.

This probably also had to sign in to any annals of cinema, but with Griffith it makes only the obvious bias with the opposite sign. Good white in the picture Parker almost there. Planter Samuel Turner — the only white friend of NAT, who dreams to revive the glorious name of his family, at first just kneels landowners, and then does shows his true violent white person that carries a well-deserved (?!) Cara. His mother who taught NAT to read, is able only to the inability to shed tears good. The other white inhabitants of this world all monsters and sadists, which of course, not accounted for vast majority of the population of the southern States (see Gone with the wind) in reality. However, Director Parker, how would retaliation Griffith for its costumed carnival of blacks portrayed them all the evil and stupid radnicni, from which humiliated black people continually suffering. Slavery corrupts slaveholders, forms of aggressive, irresponsible type of nature, leads to the blood, suffering and revolt, but behind the behavior of the white planters? What they actually of everyday life, alone, that they think, in what we believe and how to justify their crimes?

Some character can only be seen at the said Samuel Turner, the other white rascals, which is driven by nothing but the hand of the writer trying to participate in the opportunistic struggle for the rights of blacks that took place in our days after the overly aggressive behavior of some white police officers in against black. All this resulted in numerous rallies, some of which turned into mass looting and riots, and also gave birth to modern memes, like Black Lives matter.

To requests to work on script characters more thoroughly and justly the Director as it suggests that his ancestors enough worked on the cotton fields, so white (still then, struck with racism) no leniency, understanding and depth deserve. The film is replete with close-UPS of individuals who flow down with tears, and for the poster as the gallows depicts the American flag! Very relevant and a bold statement for 1915, but no time of Barack Obama's presidency. The attentive viewer will also notice that by Parker in the Civil war on the side of northerners fought for black only.

Actually the NAT Turner also undergoing an incredible transformation, as if by God, he of skoromnogo and respectable Protestant (any government from God!), it is unclear how, becomes the thug, slashing not particularly guilty before him men, women and children with axe. Real Turner (which is actually existing character) talked on the investigation of some of the voices that inspired him to revolt, took the responsibility for one murder and was found hiding in a hole. Movie Turner obviously little resemblance to her historical prototype — not crazy, daring, heroic and menacing sitting on the horse a dagger, like some ancient warlord. Maybe it's the Spartacus? How would no, the hero Nate Parker — is the child of freedom and epic, and bondage bear absolutely other characters — cruel and cowardly.

The revolt of Turner ahead of his time and was very poorly organized, so it is unlikely that could result in success. Slavery in USA was abolished in 1865 by President Lincoln, but it had such a great evil that its disgusting fruits of Americans have to eat to date.
