The idea of Steve McQueen to collect under its wing almost all British film-elite and no less talented group of artists who played in the way that, in fact, implied. But despite that racial topic on the time of the film already a cloud of dust engulfed the industry (the help 2011, "Django exemption", 2012), "12 years of slavery" turned out to be absolutely serious and the most outspoken in this section of the story. And it is not even in long's great staged work (with regards to a gentle cotton pre-dawn scenery). The whole thing makes the very history of Solomon Northup which in its a tough time hell.

And enthusiastic audience, much of the already seen only here emotions that gives the observer Chiwetel Ejiofor latter-day Lupita Nyong'o and falling fainting from their own achashwerosh Fassbender, you can get not far away from each picture. Yeah and almost fleeting pitt, issued for two-hour duration one sacramental replica, looked more than appropriate. There has someone was to promote the basic humanistic idea and that movie was not only the suffering, but and a long, long Way.

Otherwise, Director is looking for the unbeaten paths that dilutes long artistic plans tend to the theme of violence and a good gospel, which is superior even to a hardened Zimmer. The origins of the e-mine.

"In order to tell the story, you need to maintain balance. To function each piece, no one part not need to be harder or easier. I achieve this almost surgically, gradually cutting off all unnecessary, and looking out." — Steve McQueen.

First, no once I haven't seen the movie about slavery so believable and real. European Director Steve McQueen has created something incredible. The film is wild with the first minute of the show. What I liked it so much in this film:

For a start the idea, he plot capture. It is known that initially, McQueen wanted to make a film about the man grabbed and sold in slaves. But his wife showed him a book about Solomon Nontape — free man who deprived him of the main features.

Also, wonderfully adapted script. The film is literally filled with lots of memorable dialogues, conversations that are inspiring and encouraging (which is only a monologue of the hero of brad pitt).

The cast is one of the very important components of the film. In the film" 12 years of slavery" starring Chewitel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul This, brad pitt, Lupita nyongo and Sarah Paulson.

I would not want to single anyone out, because each of the actors pleased, all without exception, were amazing. In viewing the viewer is imbued with the history and personalities of each of the characters and it requires a lot of talent.

(I read a lot that, say, Michael Fassbender beat that I do not agree with this point of view. Yes, there was 1 - one — the scene where I told him not believe it, but otherwise it was beautiful, and he was able to win the viewer. Everyone in room hated Edwin Epps, I sure).

Another thing that makes this film a master — it designed the characters and comparison with nature.

Briefly tell about each character:

William Ford (Benedict Cumberbatch) — first slave owners Solomon. He bought it his hijackers. This man is not apply to black people as a thing. It applies to Solomon and others mentally that not be everyone pressure, his everyone has their own opinion. This character is one of favorite in this story.

Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender) — the second slave owner of Solomon. Edwin is a believer, he reads the Bible and truly believe in the word of God. Also, he believes that Bible forbids him treat as his "property," as he considers. It a cruel man, for which is not there is no — conscience honor.

Sam bass (brad pitt) — he is a free canadian. This man is working hard to earn a little money. For him the main thing it happiness wealth is it is freedom that he can be "here and gone tomorrow". In fact, this character from 10 minutes of screen time, but these 10 minutes we know a lot about it. This man helped Solomon, and this assistance saved Solomon's life. Samuel truly believes that slavery must be abolished, and that all men should be free.

A low bow to Hans Zimmer! This man has created incredible music for the film. The music has all the mood, colour and atmosphere film.

Also, I want to mention the role of music was given in this film. The characters in the movie in largely found in the music outlet, music saves in time of trouble and becomes a great companion when you lonely. And really, music really heals!

The ending — one of the most powerful moments in the film. According to me, if the viewer in the end shed a tear, the film altogether managed. So here I not only wept, but and just a couple of days after viewing pondered what he saw, because I saw that — strong, ambitious and very emotional!

A continuation of the tradition, from the way the new breathing open recent "Servants" and"Django unchained." Not so unusual, of course. Not with typical "Workers" level of detail, the thoroughness, expanded canvas of life different population groups in a specific period of time and in a particular area, not with signature charisma Tarantino's "Django unchained". Here at true story, that's why sadder and truer than is usually claimed to represent.

Character to the finale is almost humbled, wrecked, leaving hope, but to condemn it for this, if not know exactly how much you will generally last at such conditions?.. And will not lose whether the human form at all? Everything inside is compressed convulsively: Solomon Northup nor in one eye is not heroic, no one place of cool. Yes even for him, for his of salvation, no supernatural, desperate things do not doing.

But not hurry, even if I want to strahnet fatalistically to say: "In life, miracles do not happen." In the end, have even the fact that the official act was performed — EXECUTED! — to be small, an ordinary man in deliverance and no harm, have an untold miracle. And real Northup seems a hero has been already after his release. After all, to write about all without boasting pathos and admit when he was in captivity, slavery ingrained have not only his flesh, but and soul — such a character have more than pretend was inflexible...

Not a single action tough, with partiinost awesome or the same metaphor about a hundred subtexts lively artwork, but and every word, deeper surface understand (I hesitate to suggest, did anyone really that the film is only "about blacks"?). Like an unexpected Hello from across the ocean, a sincere epitaph to the victims of slavery of all countries and ages, in particular such as serfdom. No wonder now, twelve years pressed if a prolonged moment of indescribable pain, so much in common with that find reading lines Radishchev, Griboyedov, Pushkin, Lermontov, Shevchenko, Saltykov-Shchedrin and Goncharov, Nekrasov, Turgenev. No instructions on some special "spirituality" of reality with the feudal system there don't find, quite the contrary, although it is hard to replicate the myth about this gracious nineteenth century.

What to the acting component, even if the protagonist here is not so expressive, so on other characters in the film for this clears with a vengeance. How often sometimes, the main villain turned out all the other more convex. Di Caprio in"Django unchained" may have been a little overwhelming, so and want to Bang, so there he is textured slave owner. But even his character is not so foul as the local planter-a sadist — Michael Fassbender credit. Because candy, though not got you what it was not, and a southerner in the performance of Fassbender and more hypocritical, and just just a visual aid to the biblical words about the Pharisees, he, of course, quoting Scripture on every step. So of course of parables, which are not will be literally as though something honest to people who are not work removed, like in the Bible you have permission to torture the blacks. Of course, the commandment "thou shalt not commit adultery" of"highly spiritual" no one at all to observe not wills it.

Primitive, flawed, small-minded, blinkered "host" only the finest in ninemillimeter width with a layer of gloss covers what only live — to spoil others as much as possible. A desirable of all, in General, to eradicate the identity of some of the greatest possible number of people. The idea that someone who was it depends now on the loose, causing this individual, in poetic style, fag. (How can't remember the landlord of the Duck Nekrasovsky "to Whom on Russia to live well?") And the mission of all decent people — to make such feelings have them was much more.

Yes, but perfectly to what other of the hypocrisy here is also not passed over in silence. In such as if only the liberal gentleman, and in fact, the only weak character of Rustavi, satchel mouth, mumble and grouse. Again, so and suggests a parallel with the Nekrasov — the story of the landowner who sighed and poured the peasants, as all was fine in the days of serfdom, not have the slightest respect. Yeah and Gogol's Manilov character Benedict Cumberbatch is also related. And indifferent, sugary, cloying owners even do not less dangerous than severe less able to enslave people. So these two type slave owners and go hand under the hand with each friend in centuries, and if there are contradictions between them, it is not about the admissibility or inadmissibility of slavery!

What I mean Lupita Nyong'o't say what it is worthy in every way, so just because the suspicion and the proof is that this film had an effect on the viewer, but rather will serve as a desire to seek modern Patsy in our world it to say.
